
140th Birthday Weekend
We are delighted to the commemorating the very special 140thbirthday year of King’s High School with a memorable Celebration Weekend in July.
Throughout the weekend on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 July, there will be a number of events, exhibitions and festivities celebrating the School’s birthday and saying a fond farewell to Landor House and the Smith Street site.
Events include:
King’s High and Warwick Prep Art Exhibition
Saturday 6 July, 10am - 2pm
Enjoy the wonderful artwork exhibited by our children, aged from 3 to 18, in the glittering rooms of the Old Shire Hall and Judges’ House.
Farewell to Smith Street
Saturday 6 July, 11am – 5pm
We invite former King's High pupils, and everyone, for a tour of the Landor site. Reminisce about school days with your friends, and help us to archive and preserve those memories, by writing and recording information, to take to the new King's High. There will be a host of displays from the girls throughout the afternoon in the School Hall – a House event, EPQ presentations, Maths presentations, Music and LAMDA performances. It promises to be a delightful day, and one to treasure!
Netball Matches
Saturday 6 July, 3pm – 5pm
Come and watch or take part in netball matches at the Sports Field.
Farewell Celebratory Dinner
Saturday 6 July, 6.30pm
Join us for a delightful four course meal with wine. Speeches during the evening will commemorate the school’s 140th birthday.
Breakfast at King’s High School
Sunday 7 July, 10am
Fuel up for the exciting day ahead with one of King's High chef, M Charpentier's famed breakfasts, and soak up the atmosphere of the King's High Hall one last time.
'Come and Sing and Play' - Gala Concert, St Mary's
Sunday 7 July, 10.30am - 4pm
As a rousing finale to the birthday weekend celebrations, we invite parents, families, former pupils, staff, Governors, and friends of King's High and Warwick Prep to a 'Come and Sing and Play' Day. Rehearsals are at King's and St Mary's, culminating in a splendid Gala Concert, accompanied by King's choirs and instrumentalists.
