£250,000 in gifts and pledges will deliver a new Play Space for our Prep School pupils. This will be an exceptional environment where our children’s physical, cognitive and emotional development can flourish.
To achieve this target we need 62 donors to make gifts between £1,000 and £50,000 on our scale of giving. All supporters will be acknowledged for the unique part they have played creating this prominent new facility.
As a Foundation, we see play as a critical part of the learning process and at Warwick Prep, the focus has always been on providing safe and stimulating places where a child’s imagination can flourish.
In dedicating the top gift of £50,000 to the new Play Space, we invite you to associate your own name with this vital component of the One Campus project. Our School Council from Reception to Year 6, have been asked to develop a creative identity for the new Play Space which will appear on prominent new signage, along with recognition of your support as the principal benefactor.
Your total gift of £50,000 can also be spread using Gift Aid over three annual contributions of £13,333, or thirty-six monthly payments of £1,111. Once you also reclaim your personal tax rebate the net monthly cost for a UK tax payer at 40% would be £833, or at 45% it would be £763.
Between the Warwick Prep classrooms and the sports hall, a new Reception Play Space will be provided where our youngest learners are encouraged to ‘come out and play’
Your gift of £25,000 will be dedicated to this special area within the Play Space scheme, affording a tangible opportunity to associate your support with a child’s first experience of school-based play. You will also be invited to dedicate your gift in your name and to have this acknowledged in the form of a specially designed, commemorative plaque.
Alternatively, you may wish to direct your gift to another reimagined Play Space between Warwick Hall and the Science Building. Here, the existing car park will be resurfaced and equipped to create an additional playground for our older Prep pupils, where both established friendships and new ones can find room to grow.
Your total gift of £25,000 can also be spread using Gift Aid over three annual contributions of £6,667, or thirty-six monthly payments of £555. Once you also reclaim your personal tax rebate the net monthly cost for a UK tax payer at 40% would be £416, or at 45% it would be £382.
“We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”
George Bernard Shaw
Play is an essential companion to Warwick Prep School’s core principles, which we plan to feature on a series of five double-gates encircling the new space.
Gate 1 | Scholarship Through play children learn to analyse and evaluate a landscape they can master.
Gate 2 | Environment Having a stimulating space for play ignites an active curiosity about the world in which we live.
Gate 3 | Community Playful collaboration builds an awareness and appreciation of our responsibilities towards others.
Gate 4 | Character Role-play and problem-solving help to develop our sense of who we are and who we want to be.
Gate 5 | Opportunity Play opens up possibilities, feeding our creativity and teaching us about risk and resilience.
Your gift of £10,000 will be dedicated to communicating one of these principles through specially designed signage that speaks to young people, their families and visitors. It gives you a tangible opportunity to inspire a new generation in a setting they associate with a sense of freedom and fun.
In dedicating your gift in this way, you may also decide to have your own name acknowledged and connected with your chosen principle.
Your total gift of £10,000 can also be spread using Gift Aid over three annual contributions of £2,667, or thirty-six monthly payments of £222. Once you also reclaim your personal tax rebate the net monthly cost for a UK tax payer at 40% would be £167, or at 45% it would be £153.
Unique to Warwick Prep and central to the life of the school are our celebrated Fair Rules. The result of collaboration between children and adults, these rules encompass wise advice on the best way to learn and play.
Your gift of £5,000 will be dedicated to reproducing a special version of these rules, focusing on the importance of fairplay and prominently displayed on ten new benches arranged around the Play Space area. Each set of Fairplay Rules will be accompanied with a commemorative plaque, offering a tangible opportunity to associate your own name with this important feature of the Play Space project.
Your total gift of £5,000 can also be spread using Gift Aid over three annual contributions of £1,333, or thirty-six monthly payments of £111. Once you also reclaim your personal tax rebate the net monthly cost for a UK tax payer at 40% would be £83, or at 45% it would be £76.
“You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.”
The possibilities for the new Warwick Prep Play Space are endless. But, realising our vision of a superbly designed facility that optimises physical, cognitive and emotional development, will depend on philanthropic investment at all levels.
Our aim is to establish a very special ‘donor playgroup’ where gifts are recognised through a creative or artistic feature within the new Play Space. Pupils, teachers and parents will be invited to come up with their best recommendations for acknowledging the £50,000 jointly raised by this group - and as a giver, you will have the option to have your name included in the commemorative feature.
Your total gift of £2,500 can also be spread using Gift Aid over three annual contributions of £667, or thirty-six monthly payments of £56. Once you also reclaim your personal tax rebate the net monthly cost for a UK tax payer at 40% would be £42, or at 45% it would be £38.
“Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury.
Play is a necessity.”
Kay Redfield Jamison
A favourite childhood game is to hop, skip and jump from one place to the next. If the game is across water, even better. Whilst we may not have the requisite stream to play in, we can offer you one of 25 stepping stones.
Your gift of £1,000 will be dedicated to the Play Space project and recognised with a feature stone in our main Benefactors’ Parade, centrally situated between the new school buildings. You will also have the opportunity to include your name on your individual stepping stone and in doing so, make a tangible difference to the level of benefits we are able to bring to this project.
Your total gift of £1,000 can also be spread using Gift Aid over three annual contributions of £267, or thirty-six monthly payments of £22. Once you also reclaim your personal tax rebate the net monthly cost for a UK tax payer at 40% would be £17, or at 45% it would be £15.
“It is a happy talent to know how to play.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
